THE EVENT
Chef Senait owned and operated a restaurant in Asmara, Eritrea for decades, and has been cooking since she was a child. She operates Café Anbesa through the Oakland Bloom Open Test Kitchen, specializing in traditional Eritrean cuisines. She hopes to open a cafe in the future specializing in spiced teas and coffees.
The Eritrean coffee ceremony is a social ritual that begins with roasting the fresh coffee beans and goes through three rounds of brewing and serving.
This program will be presented in Tigrinya, with live English translations.
